Arising Awakenings

I help individuals and communities find joy and peace by achieving full-bodied wholeness:

Mind-Body-Spirit.

Rev. Vonshelle J Beneby, MPA MDiv

I was ordained by the United Church of Christ in 2009 and served as a hospice chaplain for 15 years. I later worked as a Bereavement Manager and Coordinator and a community educator in the Daytona Beach, Florida, area. My hospice work involved providing pastoral end-of-life care, assessing and evaluating bereavement needs and services, community education, and facilitating Grief, Loss, and Caregiver support groups.

Prior to hospice care, I served as the Logistics Coordinator and Assistant to the President of Bethune-Cookman University. I also have over 15 years of experience as a counselor and program director in Florida. My work settings varied from law enforcement to director of a treatment program for women and their substance-exposed newborns, a juvenile assessment center, and a juvenile day treatment program.

Managing agencies, providing pastoral care to hospice patients and their families, and being involved in the community and church have all been invaluable. These career experiences and opportunities to serve and educate others have created my desire to help individuals and communities live with joy and peace by achieving restorative wholeness in Mind, Body, and Spirit.

Healing is for everyone!

My Skills:

  • Public Speaker & Educator

  • Workshop & Seminar Presenter

  • Specialized Group Facilitator (grief, loss, self-care, team building)

  • Pastoral & Congregational Care

  • Community & Social Justice Advocate

  • Spiritual Counselor & Coach

  • Dialogue Facilitator

  • Poet

  • Healing Dance & Body Movement Instructor (for trauma, emotional & spiritual growth)

I have been dancing since I was three years old. Dance is more than movement for enjoyment! Dance can also be an act of release—which is why I facilitate sessions, demonstrate, and teach about the power of dance. My belief that emotional and spiritual healing is possible inspired me to create Arising Awakenings, LLC in 2025 to guide, support, and journey with individuals and groups. I help individuals and communities find joy and peace by achieving full-bodied wholeness: Mind—Body—Spirit.

Dance and various forms of movement allow us to communicate our thoughts, moods, feelings, and hopes, and express our sense of freedom!

Blessings, Vonshelle
